Debbie Rutstein

Debbie is a lawyer, born and raised in Sydney.
Over the years, she has volunteered for numerous organisations — serving as a madricha with Netzer, president of her children's preschool, a board member at both their primary and high schools, and even as a volunteer at the Sydney Olympics Games. For the past two decades, she has been an active leader within Maccabi Australia, holding various leadership roles.
Her personal Maccabi journey began as a swimmer and athlete in local Maccabi clubs, following in the footsteps of her parents, who were also long-time active members of Maccabi movement.
Debbie is married and has two adult children, both of whom have been involved with Maccabi Sydney, playing soccer and futsal. Her daughter proudly represented Australia at two Maccabiah Games — winning a gold medal in women’s futsal in 2022.
