A Message From the Co-Chairs

Dear Friends,

The excitement of the 2026 Maccabiah is still very much with us. The energy of thousands of athletes and members of the Maccabi Movement from around the world, together with many meaningful encounters we shared, can still be felt at Kfar Maccabiah - and in our hearts.

It was a powerful, moving, and inspiring Maccabiah, filled with unforgettable experiences, exceptional athletes, and exciting competitions across so many different sports.

Indeed, it was a More Than Ever Maccabiah!

And we, at the Maccabi World Union Women’s Forum, are already looking ahead to the 2029 Maccabiah.

Our vision is clear: more teenagers and women competing as athletes, more women serving as coaches and referees - Women More Than Ever!

This will undoubtedly be one of our key priorities in the years ahead.

At the same time, Women’s Forum activities continue to grow in communities around the world, and we are deeply grateful for the commitment, initiative and dedication of so many women who make this happen.

But there is still much more to do.

We look forward to seeing new Women’s Forums established in communities where they do not yet exist, and we are here to support and help make this happen. We also want to see our existing Forums grow stronger - with more women joining, more activities for women and teenagers, and new initiatives that complement and enrich the work of the Maccabi Movement in each community.

We were especially happy to welcome two solidarity delegations of women from Maccabi Argentina to Israel, an initiative led by Veró Silbergleit.

We believe there is great value in creating more opportunities for women from around the world to visit Israel, connect with one another, share meaningful experiences and create lasting memories together. We encourage more communities to take part in such delegations and extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who initiated, organized, and supported these important visits.

Looking ahead to the coming year, priority will be given to developing the next generation of women leaders.

We want teenagers and young women to grow within the Movement, become actively involved in its ongoing activities, find their voices and, in time, take their place in shaping, managing and leading the Movement of tomorrow.

More women athletes at the 2029 Maccabiah.

More activities for women and teenagers in our communities.

More Women’s Forums around the world.

More women in management and leadership.

Together, these efforts - and so much more - can create a meaningful and lasting impact on the continued growth and influence of our Movement and strengthen its connection with Jewish communities around the world.

The future is in our hands!

And now, as we enter the HoliDays period, we are reminded to pause for a moment from the rhythm of everyday life.

These are days of endings and beginnings, of closing chapters and opening new ones, of reflection, renewal and hope.

Our hearts are filled with prayers for a truly good and happy year - a year of quiet, calm, and peace - and with the deep hope that, perhaps this year, our heartfelt wish for better days will finally come true.

Wishing you and your loved ones a Shana Tova - a year of health, happiness, peace, and hope.

With love,

Orly Froman & Lisa Borowick
